3 Airmail Tips + the And-1 Shot
Three tweaks to dial in your airmail, plus the And-1 shot.
Once you can hit a basic airmail, these three tweaks make it reliable, plus the And-1, an airmail that scores and clears at the same time.
Tip 1: Lock in one trajectory
Pick a single arc and power and use it every airmail. The players who hit them consistently aren't re-inventing the throw each time, they have one grooved trajectory they trust.
Tip 2: Land it flat
A bag that comes down flat drops through the hole; one that comes in nose-first bounces off the lip. Adjust your release so the bag levels out at the top of its arc and falls flat.
Tip 3: Aim for the back of the hole
Aiming a hair deep gives you margin, a touch short still catches the lip and drops, while aiming at the front edge punishes any bag that's slightly short.
The And-1
The And-1 is an airmail thrown to drop in and knock an opponent's bag off the board or out of the hole on the way through, scoring for you while erasing a point for them. It's a high-skill swing, so build a rock-solid airmail first, then start picking targets. Keep your mechanics identical, only the aim changes.
